Biography

My life story begins when I entered the United States Army 11 days after graduating Shoreline High School in Seattle, Washington in June of 1985. I attended Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. My first Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in 1985 was the UH-1 Helicopter Repairer (67N), where I was taught to repair and fly with the UH-1 Huey Helicopter. My second AIT was in 1989 and was the Aeroscout Observer (93B) course, where I was taught to fly and navigate the OH-58 Kiowa helicopter. My third and final AIT was in 1997 and was the AH-64 Attack Helicopter Repairer (15R) at Ft. Eustis, Virginia. During my 24 years of service I have been stationed in Nurnburg, Germany; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Katterbach, Germany; Fort Bliss, Texas; Hanau, Germany; Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort Rucker, Alabama; and my final duty station before my retirement was Illesheim, Germany.

I have served in positions of authority ranging from squad leader (3 to 5 personnel) to Senior Enlisted  Advisor (100 to 200 personnel). My job experience ranges from being a Helicopter Mechanic/Crew Chief, an Enlisted Pilot (where I have flown over 1200 hours), an Instructor at the Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Fort Rucker, Alabama, to being an Equal Opportunity Advisor for the 11th Aviation Regiment. I obtained my Bachelors of Science Degree in Management Studies by using Tuition Assistance provided by the United States Army. I am now working on achieving my Masters Degree in Public Administration by utilizing the benefit of the Post 9/11 GI Bill. I am now happily retired living in Bad Windsheim, Germany with my wife Joanna and my three children Luka (9), Jakub (4), and Josephine (1.5) and working as a General Service (GS) employee at Barton Barracks in  Ansbach, Germany as an Operations Specialist.
