Course Withdrawal Refunds
We want to keep you abreast of the most recent withdrawal (drop) information. Please review the refund policy, effective for courses starting Spring 2013 Intersession and beyond:- This refund policy applies to tuition only; other fees are not refundable.
- If you drop a class on or after the course start date and within
- the first 5 calendar days of an 8-week class, you will receive a 100% refund.
- the first 6 calendar days of a 10-week class, you will receive a 100% refund.
- the first 9 calendar days of a 16-week class, you will receive a 100% refund.

- If you withdraw after these dates, a portion of the tuition may be refunded.
- All refunds are calculated using the date the withdrawal is formally initiated, not the date of the last class attended.
Students receiving financial aid are strongly encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office before withdrawing to fully understand the impact on their current and future financial aid. Students are responsible for withdrawing themselves from courses.
Students seeking an exception to policy may complete a Request for Exception to UMUC Withdrawal and/or Refund Policy form to have their request considered.
All withdrawals, except for those submitted by GoArmyEd students, must be initiated through the MyUMUC student portal. GoArmyEd students, must initiate withdrawals through the GoArmyEd portal.

Log in to MyUMUC > Student Portal > Registration/Enrollment > Select Term (bottom of screen) > Drop/Update Classes > Enrollment Action Drop > Submit
Military servicemembers: The first step is to formally initiate a withdrawal in MyUMUC, or GoArmyEd for Army students. In addition, students using tuition assistance must contact the center that issued the tuition assistance to discuss the reason(s) for withdrawing from the class and possible repayment of funds. Your local field representative stands ready to assist you with the withdrawal process.

Sixteen-week course

One-credit on-site seminars and field study courses
For one-credit on-site seminars and field study courses, no tuition will be refunded unless the drop is initiated prior to the start date.
One-credit online seminar
