Foreign languages
In addition to German, Italian, Spanish, and Arabic (see course descriptions under these subjects), courses are currently offered in the following languages: Albanian (ALBN), Dutch (DTCH), French (FREN), Latin (LATN), Modern Greek (MGRK), Portuguese (PORT), Russian (RUSS), Serbo-Croatian (SECR), and Turkish (TURK).
Courses in foreign languages may be applied as appropriate, for example, toward
- the general education requirement in the arts and humanities;
- a major or minor in humanities; and
- electives.
Courses in German, Italian, Spanish, and Arabic may be applied as appropriate, for example, toward
- a focus in foreign language area studies within the general studies major;
- an AA general studies foreign language area studies curriculum; and
- a certificate in foreign language area studies.
