Tuition Remission

University System of Maryland Employee Tuition Remission

If you are a USM employee eligible for remission of fees for a UMUC course, you must present the appropriate forms upon registering (in person or by mail or fax) or with your IRIS or online registration payment form. The remission-of-fees form must be signed by an authorized representative of the personnel office at your home campus, and must specify UMUC as the institution where you will enroll. Remission of fees does not cover the application fee ($30 for first-time undergraduate registrants or $50 for first-time graduate registrants). This fee, and any other applicable fees, must be paid in full at the time of registration. If you register and pay your own tuition, you are not eligible for a refund by submitting a remission-of-fees form at a later date.

Note:  Neither tuition remission for USM employees nor tuition remission under the Golden ID program may be used for the graduate executive programs. Tuition and fees are those in effect at time of publication, but are subject to change.

Tuition Remission for Spouses and Dependent Children of Faculty and Staff

UMUC accepts completed remission-of-fees forms in person or by mail or fax on a first-come, first-served basis. Only a limited number of persons will be accepted for tuition remission, and those accepted will receive remission for only one course.
