Description:
Deals with systematic, policy/project formulation
and evaluation, which take place in formal organizations. It presents the processes and techniques for
strategic planning, resource utilization planning and an introduction to capital
facilities planning.

Course
Objectives:
1. To understand how to distinguish among needs, desires, requirements and wishes, and correctly sort common organizational and personal concerns.2. To understand theories and concepts that underlies planning, budgeting and evaluating in organizations.3. To consider current challenges for resources: human, time, dollars and things.4. To learn the forces that are at work in competition for resources.
Requirements:
Mastery of concepts emphasized in required
readings and class discussions will be accomplished and demonstrated through:

Grading
Criteria:
Mid-Term Examination = 30%
Final Examination = 30%
Written Paper = 15%
Group Project Task = 15%
Class Participation = 10%
Total = 100%
90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
Less than 69% = F(a) Academic Failure
A grade of F(n) may be assigned for lack of participation
Office Hours:
The lecturer will be available before, during
and after normal class periods. In
addition, the lecturer can be telephoned anytime, including evenings, until
2300 hours
