Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located in the Izmir Education Center in Building 204, room 111.

The Izmir education center is located on the Izmir Airforce base, about 10 miles outside the city of Izmir. Once on post, you will pass through two inspection points. After the second inspection point, please park in the general parking area. Continue straight along the main road on foot and you will come directly to Bldg 204.

Computer Labs

The UMUC sponsored computer lab has eight computers available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computer lab is accessible Mon-Fri, 0800-1700.

Testing Services

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Emphasizing a personal approach to education, the UMUC academic advising staff is always available to assist you in developing a personalized plan of study. Additional Site Information

Izmir is a small base, with two buildings and a large, recreational park. There is a Shoppette, fitness facility, and public library available on base, however no housing is provided. The nearest Turkish city, Izmir, is comprised of about 4 million people and it is located about ten miles away from the base.
