Directions and Parking
The UMUC office is located in the the Navy College in Building 268.
To find our location after entering the main gate and passing through the inspection area, please proceed straight ahead. Take the second left after the traffic light onto Cabrera Street. The Navy College is located in the first building on the left. Parking is available in front of Bldg 268 or across the street.
Computer Labs
The UMUC sponsored computer lab has 15 computers available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computer lab is accessible Mon-Fri, 0800-1645.

Testing Services
Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information
The Naval Station Rota is located on the Bay of Cadiz between the towns of Rota and El Puerto de Santa Maria. The Rota Naval Base is owned by the Spanish and commanded by a Spanish admiral. The three entry gates onto the installation - Rota, El Puerto, and Fuentebravia - are operated by Spanish security forces and any entry requirements are theirs to make. Generally, U.S. military members are required to show two forms of identification and to have a vehicle pass to enter. The U.S. and Spanish Navies work well together and share many facilities under the guidance of the Agreement for Defense Cooperation. The U.S. Naval Activities Commander in Spain, who serves as the Commanding Officer of the Naval Station and is the area coordinator for all U.S. naval activities ashore in Spain and Portugal, is headquartered in Rota.
Lodging is not available on base; however several hotels are available in the nearby civilian community; the base is about a ten-minute walk from the Rota city center. Dining facilities on base include: Subway, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Mean Gene's Hamburgers, and Pizza Villa. Other facilities available on base include, a fitness center, in-door swimming pool, library, bowling alley, golf course, and drive-in movie theater.
