Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located in the Landstuhl Education Center in Building 3701, room 208.

Landstuhl is located between Kaiserslautern and Pirmasens and is easily accessible from either the Autobahn 6 or Autobahn 62.

From the A62, please take the Landstuhl/Atzel-U.S. Hospital Exit. At the end of the exit, make a left turn and follow the road and the signs for "Gate 3" to the U.S. Hospital. After entering the base through Gate 3 and passing through the inspection area, please make a right turn. You will pass the gas station. Make a left turn at the end of the priority road. There are two places to park: either next to theBldg 3701 or across the street in the large parking lot on the hill.

From the A6 (driving from Kaiserslautern), please take the A6 toward Saarbruecken. Take the Pirmasens/Hahn Airport Exit from the A6 and follow the signs towards Pirmasens/A62. Exit onto the A62 at Landstuhl/Atzel-U.S. Hospital. At the end of the exit make a left turn and follow the the signs for "Gate 3" to the Hospital. Follow the same directions as stated above continuing from Gate 3.

Computer Labs

The UMUC sponsored computer lab has nine computers available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computer lab is accessible Mon-Fri, 0830-1630.

Testing Services

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information

Landstuhl is an Army post which is home to the 2nd General Hospital and the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. The 2nd Hospital is the only hospital in Europe that provides sub-specialty care to military members. In addition to the hospital is the 10th Medical Laboratory, the 502nd M.A.S.H. unit, the 540th General Dispensary, and the 655th Blood Bank. The Breitenwald training area, the largest in the Kaiserslautern area, is also located at Landstuhl.

Lodging is available on a space available basis at the Ramstein Inn, Landstuhl. Dining facilities on base include a Burger King, Anthony's Pizza, Subway, and Shoppette. Other facilities on base include a public library, fitness center, and a community club.
