Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located in the Bamberg Education Center in Building 7047. 

To find our location, please take Autobahn 81 toward Wuerzburg. At the junction of Autobahn 81 and Autobahn 3 (exit 69), exit onto Autobahn 3 and continue straight toward Nuernberg. After passing an ESSO gas station, the next important exit is "Pommersfelden" (exit 79) onto German Federal Highway B505. Continue on highway B505; it will merge with Autobahn 73. You will come to a military community sign. However, that Autobahn gate is closed, therefore continue straight-on and take the next exit toward Gartenstadt. At the stop sign, make a left turn in direction toward Bamberg. At the third stoplight, take a left onto Berliner Ring, toward Wuerzburg. At the next stoplight, take a left onto Zollerstrasse and drive straight until you arrive at  Gate 3.    

From Nuernberg, please take Autobahn 73 toward Bamberg. You will come to a military community sign, however this autobahn gate is closed, therefore do not take this exit.  Continue straight-on until the next exit for "Gartenstadt." At the Stop sign, take a left in the direction toward Bamberg. At the third stoplight, take a left in the direction toward Wuerzburg. At the next stoplight, take a left and this will bring you to Gate 3.

Building 7047 is the closest building to the right side of Gate 3. Parking is located in front of the building. The UMUC Office is located on the third floor.

Computer Labs

The UMUC sponsored computer lab has ten computers available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computer lab is accessible Mon-Fri, 0830-1630.

Testing Services

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information

Designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site, Bamberg is an outstanding cultural and architectural highlight within the German state of Bavaria. Bamberg formed at the convergence of the Main and Regnitz rivers and is surrounded by natural parks. The city is filled with monumental buildings and it hosts one of Europe's largest intact city centers that includes the imperial cathedral.
