Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located in the Kleine Brogel Family Support Center.

To find our location driving from Germany, please take the Autobahn toward Koln and then towardAachen. Before you reach the city of Aachen, the Autobahn will merge with E-39 toward Heerlen. Continue drive on the E-39 into Holland in the direction of Antwerp. Exit onto Highway E-39 in the direction of Antwerp, driving into Belgium. After you cross the border into Belgium you will see exit signs for Genk. Take the second Genk exit, exit number 31, Genk-Noord, toward Genk and Meeuwen. As you exit the Highway, take a right toward Zwartberg. Go through the town of Zwartberg and continue driving toward Meeuwen. Drive into Meeuwen and you will drive past a brick church on the right. Beyond the church is a traffic light, Make a left turn at the traffic light and then an immediate right in the direction of Peer. About 5.5 kilometers after leaving Meeuwen you'll come to a stop sign. Left goes to the church in Peer, and right goes to Bree. Go straight through the stop sign and follow the signs for "Kleine Brogel.'' About 100 meters prior to the base is a sign on the left side for "Valkenswaard, Kleine Brogel & N 748". Turn left after the sign and after a few blocks you will be forced to turn right. Continue driving on this road until you come to Kleine Brogel. Just before the base there is a traffic circle. Take the first exit in the traffic circle and drive in the direction of Kaulille. You will see the base on your right. The American section of the base is on your right as you enter the base. As you enter the base, take an immediate right into a large parking lot. There are a set of glass doors, on the east side of the building to the left. Proceed through the class doors, and down the hallway to the left,

Computer Labs

UMUC does not provide a computer lab at this location. However, a computer lab is available through the Family Support Center and access to the lab may be coordinated with staff from the family support center.

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information

Kleine Brogel is a NATO Geographically Seperated Unit (GSU) and the small education center provides services to U.S. and Belgian forces. Peer, the nearest Belgian community, is located about 8 kilometers from the base and offers a train station, restaurants, lodging and shopping. On post services include a Shoppette and a fitness facility.
