Educational Tax Credits Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my IRS Form 1098-T?
The UMUC home campus in Adelphi will print the IRS Form 1098-T for the prior tax year in mid-January. The form will then be mailed to the address listed in your MyUMUC student portal, so we encourage you to verify if this address is current. To verify or update your address, use the following navigation: Log in to MyUMUC > Student Portal > MyInfo > Contact Information > Address. The forms will be mailed in late January. If you have not received an IRS Form 1098-T by 15 February or have questions concerning your tax form, contact UMUC in Adelphi at studentaccounts@umuc.edu.

What do I do with the Form 1098-T that I received in the mail?
Keep it with your tax information. It is not recommended to send Form 1098-T to the IRS with your Form 1040/1040A. The IRS has been furnished the appropriate information regarding your attendance with UMUC Europe.

If I need to call UMUC Europe to get information about the number of credit hours in which I have enrolled, when is the best time to call?
Please feel free to contact us between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Central European Time) Monday through Friday. NOTE: Given the volume of inquiries, we encourage you to contact us by e-mail or fax prior to calling.
