FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
In February 2009, you will receive two IRS Form 1098-Ts in the mail with instructions from the IRS on the back side. One form for the period Jan-Jul, 2008 will be coming from UMUC Europe. The other form for the period Aug-Dec will be coming from UMUC Stateside. This document is similar in form to a W-2. In past years, UMUC Europe provided an extensive FAQ on the Hope tax credit and the Lifetime Learning Credit. However, we believe you should read the IRS FAQs in order to get the most up-to-date information on this important tax information. Please visit: www.irs.gov/faqs/index.html and search for Lifetime Learning Credit
.
