Undergraduate Scholarship Programs

Most of the scholarships listed below are renewable. Renewable scholarships are those that allow recipients to remain eligible for aid under the same program for more than one year. To be considered for renewal, you must reapply each year. Renewal awards are not guaranteed. You may receive one UMUC scholarship or grant award per academic year.

Note: Unless otherwise indicated, UMUC undergraduate scholarships require a minimum GPA of 2.5 and completion of 15 undergraduate credits at UMUC and UMUC graduate scholarships require a minimum GPA of 3.0 and completion of 9 graduate credits at UMUC.

Benjamin Locke Heminway Memorial Award

  • Preference given to a student who demonstrates excellence in creative writing
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Joseph F. Poland Jr. Memorial Scholarship

  • Students studying history, particularly German history
  • Demonstrates financial need

Munich Alumni Scholarship

  • Degree-seeking freshman or transfer sophomore
  • Must be enrolled full time 

Munich Memorial Scholarship

  • Demonstrates financial need

Ruth Gatewood Kelly Scholarship

  • Demonstrates financial need
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Preference given to students with specialization in accounting
