2009-2010 UMUC Europe Scholarships
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers a wide variety of opportunities to help you achieve your educational goals. Students who complete the scholarship application will be considered for all scholarships. Contact the Financial Aid Office at +49-(0)6221-378324 or via e-mail for more information.
Some scholarship awards are made on the basis of academic performance and others on the basis of financial need. This Web page lists the requirements for each of the scholarship programs. Students may only receive one UMUC scholarship listed below OR one UMUC President's Grant award per academic year*.
To be eligible, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and a degree-seeking student at UMUC. In addition, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA www.fafsa.ed.gov) and the UMUC Military/Civilian Untaxed Income Worksheet (pdf 50KB). Employees of UMUC and their dependents, as well as persons who receive remission of fees from other institutions, are not eligible to apply for UMUC institutional scholarships or receive UMUC institutional grants.
The minimum enrollment requirement to be eligible for the scholarship is 3 credit hours unless otherwise stated.
If you receive a scholarship you must complete 100 percent of your coursework during each enrollment period. If you receive an award for the academic year (fall and spring) but do not complete 100 percent of the coursework during the fall semester, your award will be automatically canceled for the spring semester.
You may reapply for award consideration in the next academic year.
