- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Complete the FAFSA as soon as possible; the 2007-2008 deadline is 30 June 2008. Please include the school codes, E00650 and 011644, so UMUC Europe will receive your information electronically.
In addition to the FAFSA application, you will need to complete the UMUC Military/Civilian Untaxed Income Worksheet. Please download, complete and mail (or fax) this form to the Financial Aid Office. - 2007-08 Military/Civilian Untaxed Income Worksheet (PDF 73 kb) To answer the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) question: BAH is, in effect, paid to all ranks. The Leave and Earning Statement (LES) will not show a dollar amount if you have resided in the barracks or housing for all or part of 2006. Nevertheless, you are required by federal regulations to include the "cash value" for such housing as part of your untaxed income.

- Military Deferment Form (PDF 84 kb) - only for loans that were disbursed on or after 1 July 2001.
The Higher Education Reconciliation Act of 2005 (the HERA) included a provision establishing a new military deferment for borrowers with loans made under the FFEL, Direct Loan, and Perkins Loan programs. Under the new provision, a borrower may defer repayment on eligible loans for up to three years while he or she is serving on active duty during a war or other military operation or national emergency, or performing qualifying National Guard duty during a war or other military operation or national emergency. The new military deferment created by the HERA is available only for FFEL, Direct Loan, and Perkins Loan program loans that were first disbursed on or after July 1, 2001.
