The $700 UMUC Europe New Student Scholarship
UMUC Europe is happy to announce the New Student Scholarship for Summer 2012. At UMUC, we are proud to welcome you as a new student. This one-time $700 award can help you afford the cost of tuition and books, making it possible to reach your highest personal and career goals. It is one more way we continue to follow our core value of always putting Students First.
Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled for the first time as a new undergraduate or graduate student with UMUC Europe in
Summer 2012 - Complete and submit the 2011-2012 FAFSA
- Demonstrated financial need
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours during the Summer 2012
- Degree seeking with UMUC or BSU in Europe
Please note: The $700 scholarship award amount may only be used for tuition and book costs for UMUC Europe's Summer 2012. The award is non-refundable and non-transferable. Employees of UMUC and their dependents, as well as persons who receive remission of fees from other USM institutions, are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
How to Apply
Awards will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Follow these steps to apply:- If you are not already enrolled as a student, complete the admission application through MyUMUC. Please allow up to 48 hours for your application to be processed.
- Complete the FAFSA for 2011-2012
- Enroll in courses for Summer 2012 (minimum 6 credit hours)
- Complete the online scholarship application, including a personal statement of at least 100 words
A complete packet includes proof of submission of the UMUC Europe admission application (if not already enrolled), the completed FAFSA, and the online scholarship application. How to Use the Scholarship
A UMUC Europe representative will send you an award confirmation e-mail. Your award will be posted to your student account after confirmation of eligibility has been established. The scholarship award must be used toward the Summer 2012. To utilize your award when ordering textbooks through webText Europe, you must select the option "Third Party Payment."
