* One credit courses do not have a proctored exam.

The following is intended to help you understand the UMUC-Europe DE proctored exam procedures.

NORMAL PROCEDURES:

  • The Distance Education office assumes students will take their proctored exam(s) at the same location that they listed on their reservation request form, usually where they registered for the course, and during the scheduled window.
  • At least one week prior to the proctored exam week, contact your local UMUC field representative to make an appointment to take your exam.

Note: Either the UMUC office or Education Center sets the testing times. Exam appointments are Monday - Friday during the operation hours of the Education Center. Students must be prepared to take the exam during the scheduled testing times.

  • It is the student's responsibility to arrange for an available testing time.
  • If students do not make arrangements well in advance, exams or proctored sessions may not be available at their desired time.

REQUEST AN ALTERNATE LOCATION:

If you do not have a UMUC Europe office at your location, please submit the DE Alternate Exam Location form. This form can also be used to change your exam location from one UMUC Europe education center to another.

EXCEPTIONS TO THE PROCEDURE:

Extenuating circumstances may arise that may prevent students from testing during the scheduled exam week or at the location where they registered.

For students who need to take exams early or late:

Students unable to test during the designated proctored exam week may request to take the exam outside the exam week under the following conditions: A) The student provides the appropriate UMUC testing personnel with official documentation showing that they are hindered from taking the exam on time for duty-related or medical reasons. B) The testing center can provide suitable alternate dates. Please see your UMUC field representative for assistance.
